For macOS 26 Tahoe

See where your disk went. Take it back.

Clutterfall reads your Mac, says in plain words what each big thing is and what is safe to remove, and moves it to the Trash — so anything can come back.

The Sweep

One button. Three stages. Nothing waits for the slow one.

The quick look is ready in seconds, so you can reclaim at once. The full scan carries on behind it, and the AI review starts only if you allowed it.

1Quick look 0:19

What comes back on its own

Caches, Xcode and npm build products, installers for apps you already have, AI models you can download again.

2Full scan a few minutes

Every folder in your home

The Space Map, large files you haven’t opened in a year, exact duplicates compared byte for byte.

3AI review if you allow it

Big folders the catalog doesn’t know

Your own Claude Code or Codex suggests what could go. It sees names and sizes, never a file’s contents.

Clutterfall's Today screen: 18.3 GB free of 494 GB, 23.2 GB can come back, the quick look done and the full scan at 62 percent.

Space Map

A map of your disk you can actually read.

Every ring is a folder, sized the way Finder sizes it. Zoom into anything, group by the app that owns it, or see what grew this week.

  • Clone-aware. APFS clones share space, so Clutterfall shows what a move really frees next to what Finder shows.
  • Sparse disk images are measured on disk, not at the 257 GB Finder claims.
  • Never follows a link and never wanders onto another disk or a network share.
The Space Map: a sunburst of the machlin folder, 312 GB, with an inspector suggesting 268 GB of benchmark disk images and scratch copies.

AI review

Your assistant suggests. Clutterfall checks. You decide.

Connect the Claude Code or Codex you already use. It reads an inventory of a big folder and names what looks made again. Clutterfall then checks every path itself.

  • Only names, sizes and dates leave your Mac, through your own assistant. “What was sent” shows every word.
  • Every suggestion is re-checked: inside the folder, nothing protected, untouched for a week, measured again.
  • Work Git tracks never moves. Inside a repository, only what Git itself ignores can go.
  • Nothing is ticked for you.

Safety

Built so a cleaner can be trusted.

The rules are in the code, and tests and build checks hold them there. A move that can’t be undone has its own button and its own warning.

File moves
Selected files go to the Trash. Activity keeps 90 days of history, and Put it all back returns them while they remain in the Trash and their original places are free.
Permanent actions
Emptying the Trash, deleting local snapshots and Tool cleanups cannot be undone. Each has a separate confirmation; tool cleanups and snapshots are never ticked for you.
The network
Only to check for updates, in the website version: once a day, if you allow it, it asks clutterfall.app for the newest version. Clutterfall’s own code has no network code — the build fails if anyone adds URLSession, a socket or a web view.
Protected places
System files, personal folders, photos, mail and keys are protected. Two narrow exceptions: verified installers in Downloads for apps already installed, and recognised build products in Documents that Git ignores and does not track. Symlink targets stay untouched.
Checked twice
Every path is planned, then checked again right before it moves: same file, same size, nothing swapped in.
Honest numbers
Physical bytes, hard links counted once, APFS clones shown apart. The figures match Finder.
Long work
Never blocks the window. You see a count, a bar and the time left, with Stop between steps.

Uninstall the whole app

Clutterfall finds what an app leaves behind by its bundle ID, never by a guess at its name, and moves app and leftovers together.

The Apps section listing installed apps with their leftovers.

Everything can come back

Activity lists every move with what went and where. It also notices caches that came back, and folders that grew on their own.

The Activity section: a history of Sweeps with put back for each.

Questions

What happens if I move something I needed?

File moves go to the Trash. Activity can put them back while they remain there and their original places are free — one item, one group or everything. Emptying the Trash, deleting snapshots and Tool cleanups are permanent, with a separate confirmation before they run.

Does anything leave my Mac?

Nothing about your disk. Clutterfall’s own code has no network code, and a build check keeps it that way. The website version asks clutterfall.app for the newest version once a day, if you allow it; that request carries nothing about you or your Mac. If you connect Claude Code or Codex for the AI review, that tool sends names and sizes of the folders you allow, through your own account, and you can read every word in “What was sent”.

How is the App Store version different?

It runs in Apple’s sandbox, so it sees less: it can’t list local Time Machine snapshots or run Tool cleanups, its catalog is smaller, and the AI review isn’t there. Buying it unlocks this website version too, which can do all of that.

What does it need to see my whole disk?

Full Disk Access, which you grant in System Settings — Clutterfall walks you through it. Without it, Clutterfall still works on your home folder.

Which Macs does it run on?

Any Mac with macOS 26 Tahoe or later.

Your disk, explained. Then handed back.
